My Lovely Nan was a huge influence in our lives. Always there to offer advise, guidance, a shoulder to cry on and fun to be had. When I think of Nan, I think of holidays in Wales with her and Grandad, we would play cricket on Blackrock Sands, eat Cadwalladers ice creams on the sea front, stop at the Golden Fleece for a glass of coke. Boxing day parties at Sutton Avenue, Saturday nights and Sunday lunchtimes at Eastern Green Social Club. Fun days out during the school holidays, we would go to Warwick Park, Hatton Locks, Kenilworth Castle and countless village pubs that did chicken in a basket. As I got older and Grandad became frail, I would take Nan shopping, even popping to the supermarket she always dressed elegantly, scarf, earrings and necklace had to match! She taught myself and my brothers many things in life, how to be kind, hard working, never be second best, be honest and truthful to everyone especially yourself. Its thanks to my Nan that I have become the women I am today Love you Nan, Sleep tight, Kay Louise xxx
